to children. 2. Afrit: A type of demon in Arabian Mythology. Believed to be the spirit of a murdered man that arises from victim's blood and seeks to avenge death. 3. Banshees: A female spirit that has its origin in Ireland. The spirit attaches itself to families, especially surnames beginning with "Mac" and "O". 4. Bogey: A devil in British folklore, they travel alone and in groups, working mainly at night, scaring children. 5. Chudail: Ghost of Indian origin. Considered to be the ghost of low-cast persons, whose bodies were buried face down to prevent ghost from escaping, haunting squalid places. 6. Demon: A type of evil spirit in Christianity. 7. Domovik: A type of household spirit in Russian folklore that resides in every home. 8. Ghoul: A demon in Islamic folklore.
